(1900s) Post-WWII | The Cold War

« Earlier timeline set in the 1960s, but a similar story from the comics: Val moved to New York and joined SHIELD after her parents died fighting the resistance in Rome. She worked her way up the ranks as a top intelligence agent, but secretly was working for Leviathan, an organization in the Soviet Union.

Space race shenanigans, double and triple crosses galore. »

(1800s) The Gilded Age | Marvel 1872

« After the Contessa established her grandeur home in New York, the buzz all over town remained the same. Is she Old Money or New Money? A bit of both, and a nuisance all the same for shifting between the two. No one's sure what to make of her in high society, and frankly she fit in better with business barons.

Her excursion to the west landed her temporarily in the Valley of Doom, where she's been observing from the outside, integrating herself occasionally to blend into the woman's resistance movement. »

(1700s) The Golden Age of Piracy

« The noble life was a boring life, and Valentina started to dream of something beyond just funding explorers or privateers. Even worse, the man who killed her father worked behind her back, engaging her to someone she hated as a deal for his ploys. Desperate to escape the probabilities of marriage and losing her inherited fortune, the Contessa started her own mission. Good thing she's good with a sword--killing Nico, and fleeing the Italian shore.

She buys a ship called La Sprezzatura, and recruits an all women crew to accompany her on the seven seas as she leans into the madness of becoming a ruthless pirate captain. »

(1500s-1600s) The Renaissance | Marvel 1602

« A young Italian countess in her own right, Valentina joined French court in 1585 as a member of Catherine de Medici's Flying Squadron, 'Madame de Fontaine', collecting information from nobles and relaying it back to the Queen Mother. She moved to English court in 1589 after Catherine's death, working her way up to Queen Elizabeth I's spy network under Sir Nicholas Fury by 1602. She secretly curbed favor with the future King James VI and I, claiming to have been close with his great aunt, Renée de Lorraine, and helping him in carrying out his hunt against those with magical powers.

After hearing about Sir Nicholas's mysterious demise in a dimensional rift the 'New World', she starts to think something is off...this isn't their timeline, but what is there to do about it? »
